I haven’t lost much weight. Maybe about 2 – 3 lbs. so far. My weight is fluctuating up and down. I started at 201lbs and have been bouncing around 197 and 198. I have noticed that the skin around my neck is sagging really bad. Kind of like a turkey’s neck. Yuk !
Looks bad. I started the detox on January 14th.
But on the plus side, I have noticed that, though my weight is not going down as fast as I think it should, other good things are occurring. I have had problems with swelling and pain in my hands and joints. When I wake up in the mornings, I can actually make a fist, which was impossible before. Most of the pain has subsided and it’s not as painful as it was. I have a large stomach and always felt bloated after eating. I noticed that my stomach is not as big as it was and the bloated feeling is gone. The brain fog is not as bad as before. I’m not forgetting as many things as I was a few months ago. I can focus better and concentrate more. I’m sleeping better now. I don’t wake up during the night and I’m not tired and dragging when I wake up. My day starts at 4am. I’m in bed no later than 8pm.
There was another birthday party at work, but this time I was mentally ready. I could smell the food. It was tempting, but I avoided the area and munched on my carrots. After a few hours, the smell dissipated and I forgot about it.
I make a smoothie (quart-size) in the morning before I leave for work and sip on that all morning until lunch. I also take a jar of carrots with me uncase I get hungry before lunch, and most time I do. I took your advise and make sure that I take lunch with me. This is working out very well. I’m trying to eat as many vegetables as I can. My water intake is not that great, but after realizing that the hunger feeling that I get after eating a meal is really thirst, I’ve been trying to drink more water. I bring water to work, (64oz) but never finish the bottle. I think when I start exercising, the water intake will increase.
I’m adding new vegetables and recipes to my diet. I’ve added turnips. I read that turnips are a great substitute for potatoes. Potatoes are my weakness. So, I bought an air fryer and I made some turnip fries. They were different, but I liked them. Will be trying them again. I also made some sweet potato pancakes with collard green for dinner one night. So delicious and simple. That was meatless night. The rest of the time, it’s salmon and chicken for dinner. (baked or grilled)
I’m taking more time to pray now, asking God for more patience and wisdom in everything that I do. I’m not as worried about everything anymore. I had forgotten that God is always in control so there is no need for me to worry about anything.
