Are you tired of feeling sluggish, bloated, and just plain unhealthy? Do you want to have more energy, feel better about yourself, and live a longer, happier life? If so, it’s time to make a change to your eating habits.
You only get one body and one life to live. Your health is your biggest asset. Without it, you can’t even enjoy life; you can’t help others if you’re not healthy; you can’t go after your dreams and goals if you don’t have the energy or the strength.
Good health starts with what you put in your mouth.
Healthy eating is not just about losing weight or looking good. It’s about nourishing your body with the nutrients it needs to function at its best. When you eat a balanced diet of whole foods, you’ll feel more energized, have better mental clarity, and reduce your risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
So, how do you make the switch to healthy eating habits?
Here are some tips to get you started:
1. Start small.
Don’t try to overhaul your entire diet overnight. Instead, make small changes one at a time. For example, swap out your morning donut for a piece of a muffin made from almond flour or replace your afternoon soda with water.
2. Focus on real foods.
Instead of processed foods that are high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats, choose whole foods like green leafy vegetables, broccoli family veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats (ie. Avocados, Coconut oil).
3. Plan ahead.
Meal planning and prepping can help you stay on track with healthy eating. Take some time each week to plan out your meals and snacks, and prep as much as you can in advance.
4. Get creative.
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring. Experiment with new recipes and flavors to keep things interesting.
5. Check those emotions.
If you find yourself eating when you’re not hungry, most likely it’s in response to stressful situations or negative emotions. You can decide that you want to eat right in the morning and do a great job all day, only to cave that evening in response to boredom or loneliness. If you find this is the case, find other healthy ways to cope with your emotions.
6. Get help.
Maybe you know you’re an emotional eater, but you just don’t know how to find healthy ways of coping. If this is the case, it may be time to get some support. Help doesn’t have to be expensive – that’s why I created The Weight is O.V.E.R. eCademy. It’s a self-paced course that allows you to learn how to overcome emotional eating. But even though it’s self-paced, you don’t have to do it alone, it includes a 1:1 health coaching session with me. During our time together, I’ll help you get to the root of your struggles and find strategies that work for you.
Remember, healthy eating is a journey, not a destination. It’s okay to slip up and make mistakes along the way. Give yourself some grace (but hold the excuses). The important thing is to keep moving forward and making progress towards a healthier, happier you. So, what are you waiting for?
