When you look up synonyms for the word “consistent” you’ll find words such as “stable” “unwavering” “reliable” – in other words, it means once you commit to doing a thing, it’s settled – no more going back and forth. There’s no confusion about the conditions or lingering what-ifs.
For years, I struggled with my health because I was inconsistent. One day (usually just the first day) I was excited and ready to go and then the next day, when someone strolled by with a pizza, I was ready to quit.
I was still unsettled about giving up foods I thought I couldn’t live without. I kept saying I wanted to get healthy, but my actions weren’t lining up with my words and I didn’t know how to make that happen.
I didn’t know it then, but what I needed was a mindset shift: a new perspective about food and what it really means to consistently eat in a healthy way. I came to realize that there was no other way around it: I would have to hold myself accountable to making better choices. Period.
If you need someone to help you make that mindset shift and hold you accountable, it may be time for you to schedule a free call with me to talk it over: https://calendly.com/ms-keasley/30min
