Even if you don’t make any other changes to your eating habits, you’ll begin to notice a difference in your health and weight. So I consider these tips the best ways to start your health journey.
Tip #1: Eliminate or drastically reduce sugar intake
The biggest hindrance to our health is NOT lack of exercise, it is actually too much sugar!
Never before in human history have we had such an abundant access to sugar.
Yes, our bodies require some natural sugars such as those found in whole fruits and vegetables, but the problem is that we eat entirely too much refined sugar that has no nutritional value.
Sugar puts our bodies in “fat storage” mood. The body burns its sugar stores first before it ever switches to burning fat. The problem is that we consume so much sugar that our bodies never get a chance to burn any fat. So it just keeps storing it in all the wrong places: on our hips; in our arteries; and around our heart and other organs.
The only way to stop this process is to greatly reduce sugar intake. This includes added sugar contained in processed foods.
Tip #2: Avoid artificial sweeteners
I realize this makes the process of reducing sugar even more difficult. The problem with artificial sweeteners is that they are chemicals that the body was not designed to process. This includes the blue packets, the pink packets and even the yellow. The best sweetener to use is Stevia Extract. It comes from a plant that doesn’t cause the body to produce large amounts of insulin to burn it. Less insulin in the bloodstream means less fat storage. So give it a try.
I use Walmart’s generic brand, so don’t worry about trying to buy the most expensive brand. You’ll want to find a brand that contains erythritol or xyitol, these are sugar alcohols that help improve the taste of the stevia. But please avoid overusing it, it can cause gas and bloating if you eat too much at one time.
I hope these tips are helpful to you!
